How we handle
your data.

Short version: we collect as little as possible. We don't sell it. We try to be plain about what happens to it.

Introduction

Sand Collective (“we,” “us,” or “Sand Collective”) makes software for iOS and macOS. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or our apps, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to sandcollective.co and to apps we publish on the App Store under the same name.

What we collect

We try to collect very little. Here's the complete list:

From our website

  • Server logs — your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested. Kept for up to 30 days for security.
  • Email, if you write to us — your message and any contact details you include.

From our apps

  • Crash reports — anonymous, opt-in via the system. Used to fix bugs.
  • Account email and password hash— only if a specific app requires an account. Most don't.
  • App content you create — stored on your device or in your own iCloud, not on our servers, unless an app explicitly says otherwise.
App-specific note
Update this section for each app you publish. Apple requires that App Store data-collection labels match this policy exactly.

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • Run the website and the apps.
  • Fix bugs and improve reliability.
  • Respond to your messages.
  • Comply with the law when we have to.

We do not use your data to train machine-learning models, to build a profile about you, or to target advertising. We don't run ads.

Who we share with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers we need to run the business — hosting (Vercel) and transactional email (Resend, for the contact form). They process data only on our instructions.
  • Apple, when you buy an app — they handle payment; we never see your card.
  • Authorities, if we're legally required to.

How long we keep it

Server logs: 30 days. Email correspondence: as long as the conversation is active, then archived for up to two years. Account data: until you delete your account.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

  • Show you the data we have about you.
  • Correct it if it's wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Export it.

Write to privacy@sandcollective.co. We respond within 30 days, often sooner.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you're a parent and believe a child has provided us with information, write to us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for any material change, notify you in-app or by email.
